Your Role at Glance

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the most exciting, and industry disrupting businesses, in the housing sector. Due to continuous growth, the Affordable Homes business are giving the opportunity for a Rent & Service Charge Coordinator, with experience in Rent, Service Charge, and Affordable Housing, to join the team.

In this varied role, you will support the modelling and appraisal of rent and service charges to deliver a balance between the need to recover costs and ensuring our customers receive a consistent and exemplary standard of service.  You’ll act as first point of contact for Development colleagues to ensure the same approach is applied to rent and service charge modelling in all areas in which we operate. You will also assist with performance and regulatory reporting and annual cyclical tasks prescribed by legislation.  Also, acting as an ambassador for the customer experience that we intend to provide, have the chance to work across the business and its contractors to ensure it is delivered to customers nationwide.

What you'll be doing

  • Service charge and rent modelling for new development opportunities.
  • Support the annual review of rent and service charges with our external Management Providers and internal Contract Managers
  • Operational review of rents and service charges before development opportunities become live schemes
  • Performance reporting and KPIs
  • Keeping rent setting models up to date to support rent appraisals and regulatory reporting
  • Ensure the service charge model is kept up to date with changes to schedule of rates costs and other variable factors

You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of people across the business and externally, so your communication skills are key, as you’ll need to deliver key messages with confidence. Finally, we are a customer focused business, so it’s essential that you adopt a customer focused approach with your work. Here’s the experience that we’d love to see:

  • Proven experience of rent setting and proven experience of service charge budgeting
  • A good knowledge and experience of affordable housing sector
  • Interest in developing systems to support the business with rent and service charge setting and reporting.
  • Exposure of finance, budgeting, forecasting and reconciliation would be beneficial.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office with an Intermediate level of Excel.
