Job Title:  Stock Condition Surveyor - South East England 

Location:  Home based with frequent travel within the region

Salary:     £30,000 - £34,000 per annum plus car allowance and excellent benefits

About the role:

Working within the Property & Assets Team, you will be responsible for collecting accurate stock condition data against set criteria including the Decent Homes Standard (DHS) and the Housing Health Safety Rating System (HHSRS) as well as any internal standards set by Anchor. This will be for all properties and associated assets within a specific geographical region. 

You will be planning future investments, considering historical surveys, repairs, maintenance works, and improvement works undertaken by Anchor, external consultants, contractors, and partner organisations.  You will also support the Asset Evaluation Surveyors in the production of planned investment programmes relating to the condition of the housing stock and reports that will help inform strategic investment decisions.

This role will require you to attend operations and resident meetings to explain proposed investment decisions and you will be liaising with colleagues to relay information on the general condition of properties, highlighting any specific common recurring problems or risks ensuring that a collaborative approach to planned and reactive maintenance is established and maintained.

You will also assist in the preparation of statistics, reports and information as required.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • HND / HNC or equivalent in Building or Construction.
  • Experience of undertaking stock condition surveys and developing asset investment programmes.
  • A good understanding of the differences between care homes, rented housing and homeownership estates and the differing customer/resident/tenant expectations.  
  • Ability to identify property and customer needs and develop appropriate solutions.
  • Excellent data handling and analysis skills.
  • Experience of working effectively with stakeholders on projects.
  • The ability to problem solve and to assess investment proposals, taking account of local requirements to achieve positive outcomes and to organise and achieve results using collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload and deliver to agreed deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
