We are looking for a Head of New Entrants to join us.

 

The Head of New Entrants is responsible for the delivery of effective regulation for a portfolio of registered providers of social housing that are designated as ‘for profit’ or that have unusual funding models or structures. The ‘for profit’ subsector is a fast-growing and evolving part of the social housing landscape. The Head of New Entrants is a leadership position that is responsible for supporting the ongoing development of the RSH’s regulatory approach in this area.

The role can be based in either Manchester, Leeds, Bristol or Birmingham.

 

Job Description (the successful person will be responsible for):

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the New Entrants team. They will also be responsible for the delivery of effective regulation of a portfolio of registered providers of social housing that are designed as ‘for profit’ or have unusual funding models or structures. The Head of New Entrants will ensure that these registered providers are well governed, financially viable and meeting regulatory standards. They will manage the work of Lead Regulators and collaborate with other teams to ensure that the risk profiles, exposures, and the complexities of the business models presented are reflected in regulatory engagement and work outputs. The successful candidate will also be responsible for supporting the ongoing development of the Regulatory approach in the evolving social housing landscape.

We are looking for a candidate that has a track record of delivering results in a regulatory, financial or assurance-based environment. The candidate will understand the strategy, operations, and key processes of registered providers.  They will have excellent analytical skills and strong financial awareness. The candidate will be able to creatively apply current frameworks to structures which challenge existing norms. They will have experience of managing relationships at senior level with authority and credibility. They will have the ability to manage workload effectively across a team and develop practical solutions to problems whilst working collaboratively across team boundaries.

Location

Our offices have now re-opened and we are moving towards a hybrid model of working with a mix of office / home working.

RSH’s core offices are in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Bristol. Our posts can be successfully carried out from any RSH office unless otherwise specified in the job information.  We offer flexible working arrangements and staff can work from home for part of their hours. Most roles involve some travel within England between our offices, and some roles also involve onsite visits to social housing providers.

In line with Government requirements to reduce the number of Civil Service and NDPB roles based in London, we only advertise roles in London which need to be there for business-critical reasons

 

Interviews

Shortlisting will take place in early September. Interviews will be held in late September and will be held via Microsoft Teams in line with our current hybrid working model.

The salary for this role is a spot salary within the given range, which will normally be the minimum of the range. There is no incremental progression through a pay scale. Annual salary reviews are determined by the government pay award. In addition, when the probation period is successfully completed, a performance related bonus may be awarded, based on appraisal ratings at the end of the qualifying appraisal year.

Any move to the Regulator from another employer will mean you can no longer access childcare vouchers. This includes moves between government departments.
