We believe that a career is not just about earning a living; it's about having your say and making things happen that can mean positive changes to the lives of vulnerable people. We are a national social justice charity with more than 50 years' experience of changing lives, building stronger communities, and reducing crime.
Nacro is launching CAS-2, a national service commissioned by Ministry of Justice to provide accommodation and support as an alternative to custody. We are looking for a number of Support Workers to join us at an exciting time of change.
Who are we looking for?
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Peripatetic Support Worker. The aim of the role is to provide housing related support to vulnerable individuals, with the aim of achieving successful move-on and supporting service users to achieve independence. You will be a key player in driving up property standards by implementing consistency within the region around repairs and maintenance, as well as assisting to create psychologically informed environments where CAS-2 residents can feel at home.
As a Peripatetic worker, you will work across the delivery hub and act as a link between the wider regional CAS-2 teams. You will assist to provide short-term support to CAS-2 Residents and monitor rent collections and Housing Benefit submissions.
You will have knowledge of support planning and safeguarding, as well as experience of working with vulnerable adults with complex needs (i.e. substance misuse and mental health). You will also have experience in completing Health and Safety Tasks in a supported housing setting.
The role offers flexible working in the community, and you can work from home in between property visits. You will regularly meet with your team and manager to discuss and reflect on priority cases.
You will ideally be based around the area of South Yorkshire, but will be required to travel as required within the Region of Yorkshire and Humberside.
This role requires regular travel and a Full Driving License and access to vehicle are essential criteria.
An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role, as well as registration on the DBS Update Service. These will be completed as part of the Pre-Employment Screening process.
This role also requires a Prison Clearance.
