Programme Manager, Small Sites Small Builders

Employer
Greater London Authority
Location
Royal Docks, London (Greater)
Salary
£56,655 per annum
Closing date
16 Aug 2022

The opportunity

This role provides an opportunity to drive forward the Small Sites Small Builders programme in its next phase of delivery. Boosting the supply of housing on small sites, by small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) developers is an important part of the Mayor’s Housing Strategy and to support this the programme was established in 2018. Since then it has supported public landowners across London to release small sites for housing development enabling greater levels of housing delivery on public land and generated opportunities for SME organisations to engage with the housing market.

The programme now needs an enthusiastic programme manager to drive it forward and build on the success of the past interventions.  The programme is well supported by both the Housing and Land and Good Growth Directorates, creating genuine internal collaboration and the opportunity to draw together a wide range of expertise.

The person

You will be a confident communicator who enjoys working alongside a range of different stakeholders, creating connections and understanding priorities.  Your strong programme management experience will be supported by a general understanding of the policy context of the work.

You look to find solutions that create mutually beneficial outcomes and focus on the wider objective of delivering quality affordable homes in London.  Working in a small team you will be able to work independently and prepare reports and analysis to a high standard.  You will look to broker connections with public and private sector to secure buy-in to support the ongoing programme.

This role will be based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
