Do you want to help make homes in London safer for their residents?
Do you have an eye for detail and can manage large and complex datasets? Can you use data to identify trends and issues, and use that intelligence to improve business processes?

All Londoners deserve to live in homes that are safe. The tragedy at Grenfell Tower in 2017 revealed an urgent and high-profile crisis with many buildings in the capital, and across the country, found to have cladding and other fire safety concerns. In response, government set up the Building Safety Programme to ensure that these buildings can be made safe.

We are looking for two Analysts to join the GLA’s Building Safety Team and support this work. The teams job is to help improve the safety of London’s homes as quickly as possible. This role is central to achieving the Mayor’s vision that all Londoners should benefit from a safe, good quality home

The role will sit in the newly established Programme Management Office. It will lead on the management, monitoring and review of programme performance, expenditure and other aspects of the building safety programmes. It will involve reporting on progress against programme budgets and outputs, and include identifying and managing risks and/or issues that may impact on the performance or delivery of the programmes. It will also help the wider Building Safety Team to deliver excellent programme management, supporting governance arrangements and maintaining standards in our work.

Our ideal applicant has experience in managing multiple large and complex datasets and using different data management tools to develop accurate, tailored reports. You may also have experience of analysing business processes and recommending changes and improvements. You will be self-motivated and proactive, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage complex relationships across a range of stakeholders. You will also be used to working in a team environment, sharing ideas and developing new approaches to improve delivery in an open and collaborative way.

Knowledge of the housing, construction or building safety sectors is not essential and we welcome applications from candidates with experience in any sector to bring applicable expertise to these roles. The GLA team has a comprehensive training and induction programme to get you up to speed on the key issues related to building safety, coupled with wider learning and development to promote individual growth and expertise.

This role will be based at City Hall, in the Royal Docks (Kamal Chunchie Way, London, E16 1ZE). GLA staff are hybrid working up to 3 days a week in our offices and remotely depending on their role. As part of this, you will need to split your time between home working and coming into the office.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.

In addition to a good salary package, we offer an attractive range of benefits including 30 days’ annual leave, interest free season ticket loan, interest free bicycle loan and a career average pension scheme.
