If you’re enthusiastic about enabling older people to stay independent and have experience of day-to-day management of buildings and schemes, join us as a Scheme Manager in our outstanding rated Independent Living Service. You’ll be supporting residents to maintain their tenancies including assisting with low level anti-social behaviour problems, queries about repairs and rent and helping new tenants settle in.

You’ll support social activities for residents, deliver support plans and work with other professionals to ensure older residents remain independent. You’ll also manage all the health & safety compliance within the scheme, including building security and fire checks and inspections of communal areas, so that residents are secure and safe.

We have a permanent position working 36 hours per week, based in Badger Gate & Magdala House, Rye, East Sussex.

We have a permanent position working 24 hours per week, based in Newington Court, Ticehurst, East Sussex and covering at other schemes throughout East Sussex.

We are offering a 10-month FTC/Secondment working 36 hours per week, based in Bevin Court, Hastings, East Sussex.

There may be times when you will be expected to cover any of our Sheltered Schemes within Rother District and Hastings Borough.

What you'll need

•    You may have worked in supporting housing or housing related support services and be able to evidence your knowledge through this experience.
•    You’ll be a great communicator, with the ability to form relationships with a wide range of people, from residents to other agencies to generate effective solutions to problems. 
•    You’ll put residents at the heart of what you do and be focused on delivering excellent service with a ‘can do approach’.

In this fast paced, varied role you’ll be able to effectively prioritise and manage your time, including being able to regularly travel between sites. You’ll need a valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. 

Additional Information
Most training will take place locally via MS Teams, on the rare occasion you may have to travel to our office in Croydon and or Sussex. Your travel costs will be reimbursed from your base of work. You will also be expected to attend six weekly Team meetings most of which take place at our Watch oak office in Battle, Sussex or via MS Teams. At times, both with training and team meetings or dealing with emergencies, you may find you have gone over your hours for that day. Any extra hours incurred over that time will be given back to you through Time in lei (Toil) and not overtime.
