Stonewater delivers quality community and accommodation based support for some of the most vulnerable members of our communities, including specialist young peoples support services and domestic abuse services for women and their children fleeing domestic abuse.

We are now looking for a Refuge Manager to manage the day-to-day delivery of a quality specialist LGBTQ+ domestic abuse service as well as dispersed properties, ensuring service delivery in alignment with the Supported Housing Strategy and local authority contract. You’ll keep up to date with local and national developments affecting domestic abuse services and share information with the team as appropriate.

This is an exciting but vital role. You’ll manage a small caseload of customers and work with your team of highly skilled Coaches to enable women to gain the skills they need to move into more independent accommodation. This will include domestic abuse recovery work, life skills, education, training, employment, and wellbeing.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of working in a similar domestic abuse / health & social care environment.
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the domestic abuse and supported housing sector, funding frameworks, government policy and support services.
  • Have a thorough understanding of support planning and assessing risk, with the ability to work positively and creatively with residents whose needs can be complex and challenging.
  • Have good supervision and people management skills, able to positively influence and motivate a team.
  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of housing and benefits advice.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the safeguarding issues for vulnerable members of our communities and be able to manage risks associated with safeguarding.
  • Have excellent numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
  • Be IT competent and able to use Word and Excel proficiently.
  • Have good time management skills, able to work under pressure and manage a complex caseload and conflicting priorities.

Appointment to this role will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check, satisfactory references and possession of a valid Right to Work document.
