About Us

People come to work for Habinteg because they believe in what matters to us. Inclusion drives all that we do, be that the services we offer to tenants, the environments we create or the homes we deliver. One in four people in this country are disabled but most homes are designed to exclude them. We believe in designing homes and creating neighbourhoods that everyone can share and enjoy.  We have over 3,300 homes across the country from Tyneside to Cornwall. We are champions of the Lifetime Homes Standard and provide expert training and consultancy through our Centre for Accessible Environments (CAE) in-house team.

About the Role

‘Towards 2026’ is the name of our brand-new four-year strategy that we have just launched at Habinteg. The strategy captures the priorities that staff and tenants told us about, and so we now have an approach that sets out three strategic themes for the next four years: Customer Focus, Leading the Way and being Fit for the Future.

Every role at Habinteg is key to us achieving our objectives, and the new Head of Housing role is no different. This role will be there to both support the strategic direction of Habinteg, as well as strong leadership for the delivery of our Housing services. To support you, you will have a team of 8 Neighbourhood Managers and their teams, equating to roughly 30 members of staff spread nationally.

We want our tenants to be satisfied with our work and happy to be a part of Habinteg, so as Head of Housing, your aim will be to deliver a high-quality service by acting on feedback, and being customer-focussed. This will involve developing and strengthening our teams so that every decision and action we make is customer-focussed and supports our mission of sustaining independent lives for our tenants.

The Head of Housing will also join our Operational Management Team (OMT) where you will also have oversight and influence of other areas in the business, as well as supporting our Executive Management TEAM (EMT) and Board when required.

About You

You will be self-motivated and committed to delivering a high-quality customer service.  An experienced housing management professional, ideally with a range of experience motivating people, delivering innovation and a great service to customers. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to Habinteg’s inclusive housing mission.

You will need to demonstrate experience in delivering housing management at a senior level, understanding of relevant legislation, delivering compliant and value for money services.

You will be flexible and agile in your approach, being able to adapt to different circumstances and travel to different locations in England.

Closing date for the position is Monday 29th August 2022

First interviews will take place from Tuesday 5th September 2022

Second interviews will take place on Monday 19th September 2022
