Job type - Full time, Permanent

Salary - £33,065 per annum

Hours - 35 hours per week (+ 5 hour paid lunch)

Location - Wolverhampton + occasional travel nationally

Who are we looking for?

We are in search of an inspirational Substance Misuse Specialist to work as part of the Recovery Near You team to successfully deliver against business objectives by developing a motivated and committed team, efficient and effective ways of working and a clear framework for measuring success. This post will develop a culture of continuous improvement and learning within the relevant services with regards to substance misuse amongst service users by sharing best practice, national developments, and trends, supporting to review serious incidents.

The successful candidate will have previous leadership experience, and ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience of working within the Substance Misuse or associated field. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with and motivate challenging service users from a diverse range of backgrounds, often with multiple and complex needs. Lastly, we are looking for an individual with experience of working as part of a team with a holistic approach to service delivery, particularly with experience in developing and delivering 1-1 and group activities and a comprehensive understanding of psychosocial interventions.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Successfully train new staff members to support Service Users who use substances and ensure all staff are prepared and able to work with those who have substance misuse support needs.
  • Provide support and guidance for all staff to ensure effective case management, incident management and risk management.
  • Understand service specification and work with operational managers to develop, implement and review effective and safe ways of working with regards to substance misuse
  • Support operational managers to work closely with commissioners and stakeholders to respond to serious incidents involving substances and ensure that lessons learnt are disseminated and embedded through newsletters, bulletins, and training

An Enhanced DBS check will be required for this role.

Full UK driving licence or access to a vehicle is desirable and occasional travel across the country may be required.
