Hours: 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Hybrid with frequent travel to The Dials in Hinckley

The role:

Anchor are looking for a Wellbeing Advisor to provide a person-centered Wellbeing Service to our customers. Working as part of a team, you will ensure that each individuals needs are met while maintaining and tracking Wellbeing records.

Key activities will include:

  • Arranging and facilitating drop-in sessions for individuals and groups to cover a variety of topics such as, health & fitness advice, talks about wellness / depression, end of life, dementia, health & nutrition.
  • Facilitate low level exercise or organise clubs for example walking club, seated exercises or Pilates (to name just a few!)
  • Hold regular (monthly) drop in clinics
  • Signpost customers to internal and external parties such as gym, welfare advice.
  • Liaising with external agencies in promoting wellness for customers i.e. physios / chiropodists / eye tests / OTs / District Nurses / public health and external funded charities.
  • Undertake regular non-invasive procedures such as BMI checks in line with agreed policy.
  • Determine the best intervention pathway mechanisms within the NHS trusts, so that there is appropriate liaison within agreed protocols
  • General administration.

About you:

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • OCR Level 2 Certificate in teaching exercise and fitness is desirable
  • First Aid at work certificate (training will be provided if not currently held).
  • REPS 3 instructor including two of the following: Exercise to music or equivalent, Gym Instructor award, Personal Training award or degree.
  • Basic food hygiene

It would be great if you also have experience of:

  • Working in a health & wellbeing or social care environment
  • Experience of working with older people (desirable)
  • Delivering exercise classes and workshops (desirable)
  • Delivering Health Assessments and Exercise prescription (desirable)
  • Developing personal exercise and diet plans (desirable)
  • The ability to engage hard to reach communities
  • Be able to create community cohesion with diverse groups of people.
