This role is currently based from home due to COVID 19 until further notice. Peabody plans to move to a hybrid model of working which means that once our office refurbishment has been completed, the role will be part office (Waterloo) and part home based.

Peabody Legal Disrepair Task Force (DTRF)  is a high performing in-house Disrepair claim managing  service. The team’s main objective is to encourage alternative resolution to litigation by communicating, carrying out forensic  investigations taking action where necessary and to challenge claims were there are no validity. DTRF works collaboratively with all stakeholders in addressing incoming letters of claims.  The team provides a high quality and efficient professional service to the organisation whilst ensuring Peabody provides a solution-focused approach. The successful candidate will hold a caseload involving disrepair work whilst the entire team provides the required level of support to ensure a smooth transition into the role and Peabody.

The ideal candidate will be of an investigative nature with great attention to detail. Taking ownership of responsibility in supporting the needs of the service whilst displaying the ability to work in a team, in addition to being a great communicator and negotiator as the role will require the production of correspondence to advocates and contractors to deal with outstanding repair works and negotiating settlement on behalf of Peabody

The right candidate should have experience or ability to:

  • Assist in the Management of Legal Disrepair cases inline with the Legal Disrepair Protocol.
  • Liaise with solicitors and residents in order to resolve outstanding repair /claims through to resolution.
  • To assist in identifying trends through analysis and reporting.
  • To liaise and assist the contractors in completing repairs to a high standard, including visiting residents at their homes.
  • To work within the Peabody procedures for Legal Disrepair Protocoll.
  • To participate actively in, taking responsibility for ensuring the delivery of service.
  • Working closely with the Legal Team, Surveying and contractors to ensure effective communication and liaison arrangements are followed.
  • To assist in identifying issues requiring a management input to ensure that effective solutions are developed and implemented.
  • To work with the business partners to drive delivery of key performance indicators.

Key performance indicators:

  • Meet or exceed response rate required within the legal disrepair protocol
  • Ensure solicitor and resident letters are concise and comprehensive and meet the quality standards met.
  • Evidence that you have strong communication channels with internal and externals customers.
  • Meet or exceed the deadlines of notification and ensure that all systems are updated to reflect actions carried out.
  • Manage relationships and deadlines provided with contractors and internal staff to deliver excellent customer experience during the case.
  • Maintain and improve knowledge and skills to best carry out the role and represent the best interests of Peabody and its customers.
  • Identify improvement areas and assist in developing strategies that will enhance the customer experience and contribute to the value for money initiative.
  • Show initiative and tenacity in ensuring that cases are followed through to resolution and lessons learned are identified and implemented.

Experience working in similar role is desired but not essential.

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract
