Job Details

We are looking for a Financial Inclusion Manager to lead, manage and inspire a team of around 6 Officers to deliver a high quality, high performing, value for money service to tenants and other customers, for rent collection and arrears recovery.

The Financial Inclusion team supports all of our residents, delivering a customer focused service where we help to empower residents to sustain their tenancies. We deliver both welfare benefits advice and money guidance support. We inform residents of their welfare rights with the aim to ensure they are receiving all of the benefits they are entitled to and support residents with possible grant applications.

You’ll take ownership and responsibility for Financial Inclusion performance management, working with the Head of Financial Inclusion to set and consistently meet challenging targets.  You’ll also contribute to the development and implementation of measures to mitigate the impact of the cost of living and welfare benefit changes, and contribute to the development of systems, processes and procedures aimed at maximising service efficiency and rent income.

This is a permanent, full-time position.  You can be based at either our Sittingbourne or Battle offices, with the opportunity for hybrid working, allowing you to split your time between working from the office and from home.  We can also consider flexible working hours.

What you'll need:

  • Sound understanding of financial inclusion, welfare benefits, employment training options, housing, homelessness and social care issues
  • Proven experience within a social housing environment, in a capacity which involved leading teams, as well as service improvement
  • Proven experience of staff management covering all aspects of line management
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, displaying good interpersonal skills in multiple modes (phone, face-to-face, emails and in writing) using customer friendly language.

The role will work with a range of residents and colleagues, so a positive approach to collaborative team working is essential. You’ll need to live our one team culture.

Closing date: Tuesday 6th September 2022 at 23:59.

In the event of a high volume of strong applications Optivo reserve the right to close the application deadline early.
