Portfolio Manager

Salary: £56,474 - £61,125

Location: Maidstone, Kent

Contract: Permanent

About the Role

Maidstone Borough Council is seeking an experienced Residential Portfolio Manager to lead this expanding area of our operation. The Council has a growing portfolio of residential homes comprising affordable housing, temporary accommodation for those at risk of homelessness, and Private Rented Sector (PRS) housing that the Council manages on behalf of its wholly owned residential property company, Maidstone Property Holdings Limited.

Furthermore, the Council has recently agreed an ambitious programme to re-enter the Council housebuilding sector, with a programme for 1,000 affordable homes underway, and so the portfolio will be expanding rapidly over the coming years.

The role will be responsible for driving the highest customer service and building safety compliance standards for all three of our portfolio tenures, but also developing a unique “offer” for each tenure too. Integral to this success will be the continued roll-out and development of our new housing management software, Red Kite, for which the successful candidate will be responsible.

The Council has a policy commitment to provide high quality temporary accommodation, affordable housing, gypsy & traveler sites and a private rented product that will all demonstrate value for money and be a beacon for good housing management. This position has a key role in ensuring that the homes we provide are safe, well maintained and managed, and remain fit for purpose during their lifetime. The service delivered will be customer-focused whilst maintaining a high degree of financial control.
