Hackney’s Housing Department is changing. We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative Head of Service to lead our Resident Participation, TMO and Communities team.
In this critical leadership role, you will help set the direction of change as we modernise into a truly resident-centric service, with fairness, respect and resident empowerment at the heart of everything we do. You will work closely with residents, operational teams and a wide range of stakeholders to ensure that residents’ expectations for meaningful engagement and co-design are met and that the vision and ways of working set out in our Resident Engagement Strategy [drive.google.com] are embedded into our service offer.
You will be the strategic lead officer for regulating tenant-led housing organisations, engaging stakeholder groups, promoting effective use and management of community property assets, and ensuring that the residents’ voice is strongly embedded across Housing Services. You will lead and inspire four teams (c25 staff) delivering a diverse range of community based activities and services:
* Resident Participation
* Tenant Management Organisations clienting and development;
* Gypsy & Traveller Service (five sites); and
* Community Halls (c.80 community halls, flats and rooms)
You will be highly flexible, with strong financial acumen and a high level of personal credibility. You will feel confident balancing a range of competing priorities at both strategic and operational service delivery level. This will include setting priorities for improvement, leading and directing working groups, project design and implementation, and taking decisions to protect and safeguard the Council assets and resources and manage risks effectively. You will be collaborative and inclusive, recognising the journey of change that the service is on and bringing people with you.
