Income Officer

Location: Agile Working, DE74 2SA

Salary: £33,633

ENABLING FUTURES

We’re on the hunt for two Income Officers to join our busy income team on our mission to deliver ‘Great Places’, 'Great Services’, and ‘Great Tomorrows’.

Your primary responsibility will be managing rent arrears, and proactively preventing debts from occurring or escalating.

You’ll follow set policies and procedures, whilst assessing individual customers’ situations and needs to identify ways of adapting our services in order to achieve the best outcome.

You’ll be able to demonstrate a customer-focused attitude, the ability to work on your own initiative and prioritise your own work effectively, along with the desire to continuously improve the service.

You’ll also need strong communication skills and the confidence to represent Futures at court and evictions. Due to the nature of the role a sound knowledge of the benefits system is desirable.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work are essential as our service covers the Daventry and Amber Valley areas so travel will be required.

A few key points from our role profile

  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers, and internal and external partners such as local authorities and the DWP to develop a seamless approach to customer service.
  • Liaise with customers and partners to proactively prevent debts occurring or escalating.
  • Follow the relevant processes and procedures in order to recover debts due to the organisation, ensuring that any legal action taken is appropriate and timely.
  • Represent the organisation at Court and Evictions.

You’ll also have great opportunities to grow and develop, personally and professionally, but the greatest reward will be knowing you’re helping people and communities across our region to thrive.

Company

We've been providing affordable homes and supporting people across the East Midlands for over 15 years. Our origins go back even further.

Our vision is to create great places, great services and great tomorrows.

We're a not-for-profit organisation registered with the Regulator of Social Housing and work within all the high standards and regulations expected of all housing associations. We currently meet the regulator's highest standards of G1/V1 (which are measures of the strength of our governance and finances).

We have more than 10,300 homes extending from Derbyshire down to the Daventry area and beyond. We have ambitious plans to invest over £190m in building new homes by 2024.

We help our customers through a range of services designed to help them live well and independently. This includes offering money and employment advice and providing extra support to older customers and those with special needs.
