Introduction to the role

At Watford Community Housing, we provide vital services that help people to live better lives. We are looking for a Lettings Officer to provide an efficient void and lettings property service, ensuring that vacant homes are let without delay.

 

What’s the role?

As a Lettings Officer, you will assess the circumstances and suitability of our applicants using the lettings assessment process. You will take personal responsibility to provide an excellent customer experience that is responsive to customer needs, and keeps customers and stakeholders informed of our progress.

 

You will work closely with colleagues in other Customer Experience teams to deliver a cross function community-based service, as well as all other service staff in the delivery of Watford Community Housing objectives.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring Housing Options services are delivered according to standards, policies and procedures, including lettings, decants, move on, mutual exchanges and transfers.

 

What are we looking for?

As part of our Lettings team, you will have excellent communication and organisational skills to help us deliver high-quality housing options services. You will need to demonstrate a logical and methodical approach and work collaboratively with both team members and external stakeholders.

The right candidate will need the ability to think and act independently in order to analyse their own priorities, deliver day-to-day services and meet deadlines without detailed direction whilst ensuring a high standard of customer services.

You will be customer-focused, with the ability to interact empathetically with a wide variety of people.

 

Essential:

  • Experience in a housing and lettings environment
  • Qualifications to A level standard
  • Knowledge of housing transfer scheme e.g Locata/Home Connections
  • You will need to hold a UK driving licence with access to a suitable vehicle, with insurance cover for business use.
  • You will need to maintain a satisfactory basic level DBS check.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Orchard, housing management database
