Reactive Repairs Manager
Salary: circa £50,000
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Hybrid working from Worthing, West Sussex and remote working
Contract type: Permanent/FT

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced housing professional to lead our reactive repairs service for our customers. This is a new role that you can shape, to ensure the delivery of a high-quality responsive repairs service for our customers.


Key responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of a high-quality reactive repairs service and manage the customer-focused surveying team.
  • Ensure our reactive repairs service meets the needs of our customers.
  • Appoint and manage external contractors to provide a reactive maintenance service.
  • Undertake effective contract management of all reactive repair contracts.
  • Actively promote and support our digital strategy relating to our reactive repairs service among customers and external contractors.
  • Ensure our reactive repairs service meets the needs of our customers and responds positively to customer feedback.

Key skills:

  • Experience in delivering a reactive repairs service.
  • Experience and knowledge of reactive repairs service procurement and managing external contractors.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Housing sector experience and good construction knowledge.
  • Up-to-date knowledge and awareness of technical, statutory, regulatory and legislative requirements, standards and best practices in relation to the delivery of a reactive repairs service.
  • Sound knowledge of building construction and technical issues.
  • Strong contract management skills including budget reporting and management.
  • Experience in housing and repairs management information systems – digital skills.
  • Building management qualification preferred- i.e. HNC or similar.
  • The ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team of property services professionals, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
