We have an exciting position available for Employment and Skills Mentor to join us! 

You’ll provide Employment and Skills support, advice and guidance to young people and adults, primarily One Manchester customers. You’ll help to provide opportunities for life, learning and meaningful work encounters to improve long term skills attainment and opportunities to secure high quality, sustainable employment. 

We're looking for those who could work effectively with youth providers, statutory and support services in One Manchester areas to engage with customers including young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET and work across all One Manchester’s in house funded provision or externally contracted provision. 

 

What we’re looking for:        

  • Extensive experience of working with young people and adults in an advisory and training role to help them on their journey into work 

  • Proven record of ability to effectively engage with customers who have barriers to work and help them to achieve meaningful outcomes 

  • Experience of planning, running, and reviewing employability workshops and activities both online and face to face 

  • Coaching abilities including effective questioning, goal setting and on-going non-judgemental support and mentoring to achieve personal goals 

  • Experience of working on publicly funded projects with excellent attention to detail and firm grasp of the compliant submission of relevant paperwork, and systems 

  • Experience of managing a caseload whilst delivering a high-quality employment & skills service 

  • Experience of working in partnership with external agencies 

  • Excellent Knowledge of employment and training opportunities available in the local area 

  • Ability to be flexible and prioritise work or change direction depending on contracted work or demands of the local demographic needs. 

  • Level 3 qualification in IAG and/or AET or equivalent preferred
