The Swindon Foyer / Swindon Outreach have an excellent opportunity for you to become a Young People Support Worker, where you will be empowered an encouraged to coach our customers to reach their full potential. Your unique skills and attributes will be used to support customers on a day-to-day basis, allowing them to gain employment, education and independence.

A typical day as a Young People Support Worker (known by us as Coach);

  • Using the Outcome Star to create support plans with your customers
  • Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, actions and goals setting and regular reviews
  • Helping customers with day to day tasks such as budgeting and meal planning
  • Helping customers with finances and benefits
  • Assisting customers to source education, training and employment opportunities
  • Supporting customers to successfully maintain their tenancy by monitoring rent payments and room cleanliness.

You will bring;

  • Passion to support our customers to live their best life, working collaboratively with an eye for detail.
  • We understand that not everyone has all the experience we’d like so if you have a “can do” positive attitude and a zest for supporting people, the rest we can teach you!
  • We’d like experience of creating person-centred support plans and supporting colleagues to work to the plans
  • You’ll have the ability to work using your initiative, remaining calm under pressure and have a resilient approach.

Job Details

  • We are a 24 hour service, but you will not overnight. You will be required to join a shift pattern with hours between the hours of 8am-9pm, from Monday to Sunday
  • You will need to be confident using technology for creating and updating support plans, collaborating with colleagues and completing online training
  • You will need an enhanced DBS check done and Stonewater do pay for this.
