About the role

We have an opportunity for an Estate Services Officer to join our Estates team, on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday to Friday 0800hrs to 1600hrs. A van will be available for work purposes.

Reporting into the Estates & Grounds Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for managing a team of 11 Gardeners & Cleaners across 12 housing schemes in the South London area, who deliver and maintain an excellent level of cleaning, gardening and grounds services.

You'll be responsible for facilitating and scheduling the delivery of cleaning, gardening and grounds maintenance, ensuring all activities carried out are delivered in line with agreed budgets, compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and PPE legislation and to the specification and service offer. You'll liaise with customers on site to help identify service improvements, ensure the reporting of repairs, removal of fly tipping and graffiti, reporting of safeguarding alerts. You will ensure the supply and use of all allocated equipment, fleet, materials and any other consumables are in line with Policy, Procedure and legislation.

We're looking for someone with a strong track record of leading a team to deliver exceptional levels of customer service. You'll be someone who enjoys being a motivational leader and promoting Guinness whilst modelling our behaviours. You are the sort of manager who has high standards, is both a pacesetter and works collaboratively at all levels.

You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of leading and managing remote working teams and staff members, including strong performance management skills.
  • Track record of working to agreed standards, specifications and timescales.
  • Experience of delivering high quality Estate Services-grounds maintenance, gardening, communal block cleaning, weed-spraying, refuse removal and compliance activities.
  • Direct experience of working with customers and customer feedback in a service delivery environment.
  • Understanding and knowledge of compliance processes and relevant Health and Safety legislation, e.g., COSHH, PPE, RIDDOR.
  • Experience of budget management, cost control and stock management.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • A good level of IT knowledge including Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
  • Able to demonstrate Guinness Behaviours.
  • Hold a current full UK driving licence and can drive manual gear vehicles.

Desirable Experience & Qualifications:

  • Good IT literacy, including Microsoft packages
  • Horticulture NVQ, BTEC or relevant professional qualification.
  • Institute of Occupational Safety and Health Certification.
  • An understanding of service charges.
  • Performance management of dispersed teams
