About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Contract Officer to join our team in London on a permanent basis, working 35 hours per week. Our working style is Hybrid, blending working from home and the office.
We are a dedicated team of 3, working hard to deliver an amazing customer focused service in Asbestos & Water Safety. As a team we are responsible for looking after the Asbestos and Water Safety actions for the organisation, managing our nationwide contractors performance to ensure actions are completed within our KPI targets, and ensuring our asset management system is up to date and accurate.
You'll be required to support the effective delivery of programmes of Asbestos and Water Safety inspection and monitoring and managing associated recommendations for planned preventative maintenance, responsive repairs, or equipment replacement.
This is a really important role within Guinness. In particular, asbestos management is cross-functional with other teams spread across England who deliver responsive repairs, planned works, cyclical and empty homes and thus you will be supporting contractors, colleagues and customers, so being able to build and maintain relationships is crucial.
What we're looking for
We're a customer-focused organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You'll not only be an experienced Contract Officer, but you'll also have great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done. You'll also be able to demonstrate:
- Ability to gather information, diagnose problems, draw logical conclusions, and suggest practical solutions.
- Experience of building and maintaining relationships with contractors, tenants, and staff across different functions.
- Experience of asbestos and/or water safety management, and awareness of statutory and regulatory requirements relating to asset compliance in particular asbestos and legionella.
- Experience of Asset Management Systems, such as NEC.
- Experience of working in asset compliance, especially covering asbestos and/or legionella is desirable.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- A sound understanding of financial controls.
- Able to demonstrate Guinness behaviours.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- UKATA Asbestos Awareness and UKATA Duty to Manage (or equivalent) qualifications.
- Additional asbestos and/or water safety qualifications such as P405 or Management of Legionella in Hot & Cold Water Systems.
