The vacancy
About the role
As Planned Investment Surveyor you will act as a single point of contact for the specification and project management of investment surveys to our properties and assets. To be successful in this Surveyor role you’ll need excellent stakeholder management to establish positive working relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers to ensure delivery of high-quality service in accordance with SBHG operational plans, contract requirements, and statutory obligations.
Reporting into our Repairs Surveying Manager you will collaborate with colleagues across SBHG to plan, contract manage and deliver annual planned and cyclical maintenance and investment surveying projects. Your work will be invaluable in helping us to improve and maintain our stock, ensuring our homes provide customers with great places to live, and that condition data is accurate to ensure SBHG assets are maintained to the required standard.
What we’re looking for
We are a customer-focussed organisation, so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You will not only be an experienced Surveyor consistently working to the highest standards ensuring quality and compliance. You’ll be self-motivated and highly organised with great customer service skills and a willingness to travel to undertake site visits and physically inspect properties. You will also be able to demonstrate the below essential skills and experience:
- Demonstrable experience and in-depth knowledge of Building Regulations and CDM, HHSRS assessments, Party Walls, Aids & Adaptations, Decent Homes, and Planning/Building control.
- Identifying, procuring, and managing investment and cyclical works contracts
- Producing defects, improvement, and insurance reports
- Undertaking building, party wall, adaptations & stock condition surveys
- Specifying and tendering contracts for investment and cyclical works
- Project managing/quality assuring works undertaken by contractors.
- Delivering successful Section 20 works programmes
- Full current UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
Essential Qualifications
- A recognised technical qualification or professional qualification in building/surveying, e.g., BSc, MCIOB or MRICS
