First things first, how much?   

We pay £27,013 for a 37.5-hour week. There's also opportunity to work overtime when required.  

You’ll get 25 days of paid annual leave (rising annually to 30) plus Bank Holidays. We offer a fantastic pension scheme and will match your contribution up to 9%.

Where?  

You’ll be primarily based within West Yorkshire, but may need to travel across the whole of Yorkshire when required.

As our Facilities Maintenance Operative you’ll be a hands-on problem solver with a keen eye for detail, ensuring our customers are safe and compliant in their homes.  

   

What you’ll be doing  

As our Facilities Maintenance Operative, you’ll be at the heart of ensuring our properties are safe, compliant, and well-maintained. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: 

  • Conducting cyclical EET testing and communal fire alarm checks.
  • Testing and replacing domestic smoke alarms.
  • Performing health and safety checks in communal areas, including emergency lighting and fire doors.
  • Acting as the eyes and ears of Yorkshire Housing, reporting any disrepair or damage.
  • Supporting the Electrical team with lighting upgrades and commercial testing.

 

What do we need from you? 

  • A full UK driving licence.
  • A methodical approach to work and record-keeping.
  • IT savvy with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility in working hours and a proactive attitude towards personal development.

Bonus points for: 

  • Recognised qualifications or experience in EET Testing.
  • Electrical maintenance experience.
  • A background in practical maintenance or repairs.
