The Hilldale Board are looking to strengthen its governance structure by recruiting a sixth member to the Board who will also Chair our new Customer Committee
As a member of Hilldale’s Board and Chair of the Customer Committee, you will perform key roles within Hilldale’s governance arrangements.
As a board member, your role is to ensure Hilldale is managed efficiently, effectively and in accordance with the requirements and standards of the Regulator of Social Housing (RSH), the National Housing Federation Code of Governance and best practice.
You will work alongside other board members and officers to shape and monitor our strategic direction, policies, risk and financial management, as well as resident involvement activities to ensure we achieve our strategic objectives.
You will be the member responsible for complaints, ensuring Hilldale is compliant with the Housing Ombudsman Complaint Handling Code.
As Chair of the Customer Committee, you will provide leadership and guidance to the committee members in their assessment of Hilldale’s compliance against the RSH Consumer Standards. You will be the direct link for the committee into the Hilldale Board, as well as working alongside our Tenant Voice Panel to ensure our customers are involved in the decisions that impact them.
We are particularly interested in attracting people with:
> A deep understanding of social housing and legislation.
> Experience and knowledge of regulation, specifically consumer standards.
> A track record of demonstrating an understanding of issues associated with individuals who may have complex care and support needs.
We are committed to attracting and developing a diverse board membership that is representative of our wider society. We welcome applications from people of all ages, living with disabilities, of any ethnicity, gender, religion, sexuality, transgender status and cultural background.
The commitment is for a minimum of 12 meetings per year, as well as meeting Hilldale officers to prepare for committee meetings. Meetings will often be held over Teams, but there will be a requirement to attend some meetings throughout the year in person.
