Job Description
About the role
We are looking for a Senior Financial Accountant – Reporting and Compliance to join the Guinness team. This is a permanent, full-time vacancy which is based in our London office. We are currently working to a hybrid working style.
The main purpose of the role is to ensure high quality external financial reporting for the Group and that the Group’s tax affairs are effectively managed, founded on a strong financial control environment.
We have developed a strong financial accounting and tax function and are looking for someone who can continue to build on that. You will be joining a strong team and be taking the lead on complex technical areas and add real value to the organisation.

You will have a strong technical background but we do not need you to be an expert in all relevant accounting and tax standards, we are looking for someone who is motivated to learn and develop themselves with us.
You’ll also be able to demonstrate
Essential:
- Proven experience of leading on the preparation of consolidated Financial Statements for audit and the application of accounting standards.
- Proven experience of financial accounting and reporting in a large and complex organisation in industry or in practice.
- Experience of external audit liaison.
- Proven experience of leading a finance team or function through improvement activity.
- Experience in taxation, gained in industry or in practice.
- Up to date knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Good attention to detail with ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload to meet agreed deadlines.
- Experience of using Oracle Financials or equivalent system.
- Proven customer service experience.
- Excellent oral and written communications.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Behaviours.
- Demonstrates the Guinness Leadership and Management Standard.
Desirable:
- Experience of working in external or internal audit.
- Good knowledge of current financial reporting standards and their application within the Social Housing Sector.
Qualifications:
Essential:
- CCAB or CIMA qualified.
