About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Multi Skilled Repairs Technician to join our Repairs team in West London. To carry out building repairs and maintenance in occupied and void housing properties and other SBHG owned or managed premises in accordance with best trade practice and to current standards and regulations, to a consistently high standard ensuring customer satisfaction and ‘Right First Time’ approach.

 

This role is being offered on a 12-month fixed term contract, full-time Monday to Friday 8.00-17.00, with some occasional out of hours working required on a rolling rota. You must be a qualified and experienced in primary trade such as Plumbing or Carpentry with additional competence in general building duties such as Patch Plastering, Tiling, Floor Laying, Painting & Decorating and hold a full UK driving licence.


What we’re looking for

We’re a customer-focused organisation so we know that how we do things is just as important as what we do. You must be a qualified and experienced Multi skilled tradesperson and show a level of competence in other trades. You’ll also have great customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done. You’ll also be able to demonstrate:

  • Demonstrable competence within required primary trade.
  • Various multi-trade skills and experience, sufficient to enable the completion of repairs at the first visit (first time fix).
  • Experience of working in a customer focused environment within agreed performance targets.
  • Proven ability to work methodically, follow agreed procedures and accurately record data and information.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and demonstrate organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to make decisions and solve problems seeking any advice required.
  • Ability to carry out physical tasks and lift weights in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Ability to operate safely having considered any environmental circumstances and possible risks.
  • Full UK Driving License (a van will be provided for work use).

Desirable:

  • Experience of working within the social housing sector.

 

Essential Qualifications:

Trade Qualification NVQ Level 2 (City & Guilds) or equivalent recognised competency in the required trade.
