We're seeking an experienced Domestic Abuse professional to join our Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) team on a permanent basis. You'll provide a high-quality frontline service to people at the highest risk of domestic abuse using a client-centred, trauma-informed approach.

In this role, you'll be responsible for identifying and assessing the risks and needs of domestic abuse victims using an evidence-based risk identification checklist which will enable a dynamic and SMART safety plan to meet the individual needs of a client and their family.

You'll advise clients on civil and criminal remedies and their housing rights. You'll support clients through the MARAC process, working closely with the police and other agencies to advocate for your client's overall safety and well-being.

Our IDVAs are crucial to delivering high-quality service to domestic abuse victims. You'll need to be a great team player and used to responding quickly to risk and the needs of service users. You will need to be highly organised and able to naturally prioritise your workload. Confident IT skills are necessary to ensure accurate reporting and recording of your client's work.

You'll have comprehensive knowledge of current legislation, both criminal and civil relating to domestic abuse. Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality and a good understanding of the impact of domestic abuse on adults and children, including how to use legislation and best practices to safeguard them.

Formal qualifications such as IDVA or a willingness to undertake IDVA training are essential.
