Contract Type: Permanent

Clarion Housing Group is the largest not for profit social landlord in the country, providing affordable homes and services to over 350,000 customers across England. Our mission is to transform lives and communities by delivering high-quality, sustainable housing and exceptional customer service.

In the Summer of 2023, we embarked on our 'Connect' programme to review the way we work to improve our homes and services and meet the evolving needs of our residents.

Our transformation programme will build an organisation fit for the future and set us up to deliver our mission: to provide and maintain homes for those that need them most. We're looking at every aspect of our organisation to deliver an improved experience for everyone who lives in our homes. We're focused on improved housing management, housing people more quickly, improving our handling of customer enquiries, and ensuring frontline workers are more visible.

We're also reviewing how we're structured to make sure we have the right resource and the right skills in the right part of our organisation.

We are looking for a social housing lettings expert to join our team as our new Head of Home Moves, where you will have a national responsibility for completing c.3,500 new social lettings every year across England.

Reporting to the Director of Housing, you'll manage Clarion's Home Moves department and our national portfolio of social housing lettings. Alongside this you will have responsibility for our Council Tax and Utilities team, and you'll write and deliver a Home Moves strategy focusing on improving lettings performance, driving down spend in Council Tax and Utilities, and building an innovative, sector leading approach to new homes lettings.

We'll be looking for you to lead and motivate our regional lettings teams across the country to ensure they are meeting lettings targets and deliver an exceptional move in experience for our customers. As an exceptional stakeholder manager, you will work alongside colleagues from Repairs teams to ensure re-let properties are repaired on time and to standard, and alongside our Development team to plan for and let out all new build and regenerated homes. You'll also need to liaise with local authority contacts across the country to agree lettings or nomination rights relating to new housing delivery.

You'll also be a key strategic lead for our overall Groupwide voids strategy, reviewing void properties across all tenures and teams, writing detailed reports and improvement plans on our performance in this area, and you will have responsibility for finding synergies with other home move activities in the business, including mutual exchanges and private lettings and implementing these across our social housing lettings activities.

The opportunities for improvements are varied, and you will be responsible for developing strategic innovation in lettings, modernising our processes and systems and building collaborative working and learning relationships with the private rental sector.

You'll hold an appropriate CIH (or equivalent) qualification in social housing management - or commit to work to complete one within 24 months of starting the role - alongside a passion for social housing and excellent customer service. You'll be able to demonstrate a track record of financial planning and budget building, as well as being highly competent at analysing complex lettings data to plan resources, identify trends and adapt service delivery to respond to performance information.

If you're an experienced Head of Lettings or Lettings Manager from the social or private housing sector, with an excellent track record of managing and leading lettings services, then we want to have you on our team. You can review the full role profile here or please visit our website
