As Director of Asset Investment & Compliance, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of housing. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, you’ll lead the charge in driving innovation, quality, and value across our housing stock. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference and spearhead bold, transformative strategies that impact lives and communities.
💰Salary: £110,000 per year with a car allowance of £3,000 plus 3% of salary.
📝Contract: Permanent, full time
⏰Hours: 36.25 hours (Monday to Friday 8.45am – 5pm)
📌Location: This is a hybrid role, where you can work from any of our offices (MK, Rushden, Boston, or Peterborough) at least one day per week, with the option to work from home on the remaining days.
✨Snapshot of your role
- Shaping and delivering a five-year operational plan focused on safety, compliance, and property excellence.
- Overseeing a £60m budget to drive smart investments and innovative solutions for customers and stakeholders.
- Setting clear KPIs to exceed standards in areas such as fire safety, gas and electrical compliance, and asbestos management.
- Leading high-performing teams through change while building strong partnerships with contractors, regulators, and community groups.
- Developing long-term strategies for property investment and maintenance to meet evolving customer needs.
- Driving cost efficiencies and identifying savings opportunities without compromising service quality.
- Championing the adoption of innovative technologies and sustainable practices in housing operations.
- Integrating the property compliance function to ensure safe, high-quality homes for customers.
- Maintaining customer and regulatory safety during organisational change.
- Establishing a commercial contracting function to maximise value from maintenance contracts.
- Collaborating with teams to define and deliver future home standards that meet customers’ changing expectations.

We’re looking for a leader with vision, passion, and the expertise to back it up. Key skills and experiences include:
- Proven leadership experience, with a focus on building and managing high-performing teams.
- Skilled in using property data and asset intelligence to create actionable investment and safety plans.
- Strong ability to build trust and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Commercially savvy, driving value from contracts while ensuring quality and compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of housing law, compliance, and regulated environments.
- Experienced in managing large budgets and achieving financial stability.
- Proven ability to drive operational improvements and implement practical, innovative solutions.
- Clear and effective communicator, able to engage and motivate people at all levels.
While social housing experience is advantageous, what really matters is your ability to adapt, think strategically, and lead with confidence in a regulated environment.
