Head of Housing Governance & Improvement - Join our team as the Head of Governance & Improvement! We are looking for a dynamic and experienced leader to take on this crucial role. As the Head of Housing Governance & Improvement, you will play a vital part in our organisation.
About the Role
As the Head of Housing Governance & Improvement, you will support the Director of Homes and Neighbourhoods with operational strategy, business assurance, risk management, and compliance with legislation and social housing regulation. You will provide high-level advice, leadership, and direction to ensure the service continues its transformation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all operational aspects of the Governance & Improvement
• Prepare detailed reports and present them to senior leadership and the Council’s Cabinet.
• Develop a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
• Manage budgets and resources effectively.
• Ensure compliance with legislative and regulatory changes.
• Focus on key areas including compliance, regulation, improvement, performance management, and quality and data.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with the following essential skills and experience:
• Degree level qualification or equivalent and/or relevant professional qualification (e.g., CIH Level 5).
• Substantial experience at senior management level in social housing governance and assurance.
• Significant experience of managing large and complex transformation projects.
• Strong financial acumen and reasoning.
• Excellent people leadership skills and a strong sense of doing what is right for residents.
• Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills.
