About the role
Working with the Assistant Director for Housing (Regulated Services), the Corporate Lead for Property and Assets will provide strategic leadership and operational management to the property and assets teams, including our responsive repairs, voids, planned and cyclical works, and compliance services. This role will oversee the delivery of high-quality, customer-focused services and will ensure the robust management of our partnership contracts that are the foundation for delivering an excellent service to our customers. This is a key role in ensuring we reach our commitment of delivering “Decent Homes for All”.
About you
Resilient, high performing and self-organised, you’ll have a degree or other relevant professional housing related qualification, as well as a formal building related qualification/accreditation, such as RICS or CLoH. Alongside a proven track record of implementing policy and Housing strategy and managing complex cases, it’s important that you have a comprehensive understanding of good contract management, ideally in a PPP/PPV environment. An excellent communicator, you will have the gravitas and confidence to challenge and influence others.
You will bring your experience and passion for delivering high quality repairs and maintenance services, using this to inspire a positive and high performing culture and building upon our successes and direction of travel over recent years. You will challenge the status quo and think outside of the box when problem solving, promoting the ‘One East Devon’ approach and working across the directorate to challenge silo working.
This is an exciting opportunity to continue to build and develop our property and asset services, improve tenant satisfaction, and take real ownership and pride in service delivery.
Previous experience working in the public sector and/or managing a similar service would be beneficial.
Please note, this post is politically restricted, and the post holder will be prohibited from participating in political activities. You’ll also need to attend occasional evening meetings.
About us
You will be part of a Gold Investors in People (IIP) organisation which works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment in which people want to live, work, visit and enjoy now, and for future generations.
With our wide range of health and wellbeing benefits, our highly flexible and collaborative hybrid Worksmart working arrangements as well as our commitment to continuous learning and development, you can be confident of joining a dedicated community of colleagues who are Happy, Healthy and Here.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (ROA) (as amended) and appointment is subject to satisfactory outcome of Standard Disclosure & Barring checks.
